Editorial
The organization of an international competition like the WWSA, isn´t an easy task for a small group without
economic resources as the GACW is. However, the perseverance and commitment shown by all who have some
responsibility in the organization and other South Americans who feel this competition as our CW regional
party, have become the second weekend June each year a classic contest with South American and friends of
the rest of the world who join us to the delight of all.
When we announced that we would deliver no more plaques or awards and that the only serious price of the
entries will be the publication of the results, we think it would be a significant decline in the number of
participants, none of this has happened and instead on each issue we noticed a greater commitment and
solidarity from all of you
In 2010 the CONDX were not very helpful but could nonetheless maintain a similar level of activity on the bands,
allowing the winners of the categories and their opponents managed to score good points.
We want to thanks to Esteban Toribio LW1DTZ for his first time job with these results an to all participants for
their presence and solidarity and all others who in one way or another have helped us with their support and
difusion.
We will meet you on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 June 2011 to enjoy a feast of hams and contesters.

put my photos in your wonderful website without
success, hi. My first callsign was UA3UW, then
UI8NH, UA0LEO, UM8MDX and EX8DX (vanity call in
1983 for my getting one of the top ten in the former
SSSR). I started my SWLing in 1955 in Germany as
a soldado, illegally. As UA0LEO in 1977 I constructed
my first serious antenna 3 el. Quad from the military
junk trash and wastes. Full size! Big!. Here in
Amerika I live in RV camping resort with the Rule
31:"No ham radio usage". So I am here also illegal. I
used in the contest IC-706 IIG. My antenna is 20m
wire on the tree, like inverted L. Much of strong noise
from the high voltage line, abt 300m outside the
camp. It was absolutly no propagation on the other
bands, only some on 40 m at night time. And then I
had to work. Che lastima!. You can see on the
picture the DX-Engineering 43' Vertical which I tried to
install in the camping. They forced me to remove it.
I'm 74. My former professions are radio engineer,
foreign language teacher and interpreter (German,
English, Italian). I'm working part-time at Publix store
for 10 years as a bagger having arthritis, with bad
hearing and
eyesight. My hobbies are radio, music and languages.

Resultados de America del Sur.
La organización de una competencia internacional con las características del WWSA, no es una tarea fácil para
una agrupación pequeña y sin recursos económicos como el GACW. Sin embargo la constancia y empeño
puesto de manifiesto por todos los que tenemos alguna responsabilidad en la organización y los demás
suramericanos que sentimos esta competencia como una ocasión diferente y especial como si fuera nuestra
fiesta regional del CW, han convertido el segundo fin de semana de Junio de cada año en una fecha en la que se
desarrolla un clásico del CW con la participación suramericana y de los amigos del resto del mundo que parecen
comprendernos y nos acompañan para beneplácito de todos.
Cuando anunciamos que no entregaríamos más plaquetas ni diplomas y que el único reconocimiento seria en de
las menciones en la publicación de los resultados, pensamos que se produciría una importante merma en el
numero de los participantes, nada de eso ha ocurrido y por el contrario en cada edición notamos un mayor
compromiso y cariño de todos Uds.
Este año 2010 las CONDX no fueron de mucha ayuda pero no obstante se pudo mantener un similar nivel de
actividad en las bandas, lo que permitió que los ganadores de las categorías y sus oponentes lograran sumar
buenos puntos.
Queremos agradecer a Esteban Toribio LW1DTZ quien preparo estos resultados por primera vez, a todos los
participantes por su presencia y solidaridad y todos los demás que de una u otra forma nos han ayudado con su
acompañamiento y difusión.
Los esperamos el sábado 11 y domingo 12 del próximo mes de Junio para disfrutar de una nueva fiesta de los
radioaficionados y contesters.

de mi participacion en el WWSA edicion 2010. Las
condx no fueron de las mejores, pero hubo mucha

horas y las dos últimas fueron bastante difíciles. De
resto hubo bastante actividad aunque escuche pocas
estaciones suramericanas. En todo caso disfruté una
vez más el WWSA y me sentí muy contento de
participar en este concurso del GACW. Tuve un muy
buen pile-up de japoneses en 40 y luego 20 metros en el
amanecer del domingo; esa fue mi salvación. A pesar de
todo tuve menos QSO's que en el concurso del 2008, el
último en el que había participado. De nuevo muchas
gracias y felicitaciones por la organización y el

entusiasmo permanente que ustedes le dan a la

+... Por falta momentánea de antenas adecuadas (pero
más que nada de pericia, je je...) no participé en el
WWSA CW 2010, pero de todos modos hice algunos
QSO's para no dejar de estar presente, y adjunto una
planillita excel con los contactos realizados solamente
para control del concurso. Trabajé como monooperador,
multibanda, baja potencia. Un abrazo y

técnica me jugó una mala pasada, así que envío los
pocos contactos que hice con ese call del RC a efectos
de CHECKLOG únicamente. Ahora voy a ver si salgo de
esta bronca y hago algo de ruido con mi licencia
